I honestly know how much it would cost to trade up to get Laine but if there was ever a year to do it , this is the year to consider it.

The kid looks like a 35 a year goal scorer.

To me Dubois is still the logical choice. If Chia pet trades down i really hope JB has a back up plan. Or as you suggested, pulls the trigger first and moves up.

This is where JB has to shine. Get a potential 1C prospect in place. Is it Logan Brown or....? If JB drops the ball this year you can be assured Brad Treliving won't.

maybe not carried, but certainly filled that role. Like a substitute teacher that never leaves, the job got done, and it was the top line in the league for a couple seasons.

It could be worth it but sets the rebuild back at least a year, but increases the future potential of success. I don't think JB has the time.
